Here are 6 ways to refocus and crush your end-of-the-year goals
1.Don’t Beat Yourself Up About it. Life happens. And there are variables out of our control: work obligations, family, health, and the list goes on. Just get back on track.
2.Stop Trying to Do Everything TODAY: You think up amazing ideas throughout the day and want to implement them right now. Instead, keep an ideas folder in Google Drive to keep great ideas for another time.
3. Choose One Major Thing to Focus On. This one is similar to number two. If you are anything like me, a shiny object can easily steal your attention. If you try to do everything, you risk not completing anything. So, choose one major thing you will focus on for the remainder of this year.
4. Limit Distractions. Limit or delete your social media. Turn off your phone or leave it in the other room while you work on your project.
5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are individuals who have done the very thing you are trying to do. Stop trying to start from scratch when you don’t have to.
6. Mind Your Business. One negative aspect of social media is that you can see what others are doing in real-time, and it can cause you to compare your timeline and vision to someone else’s. It can even cause you to covet someone else’s purpose. See number 4 for help with this.
Remember, it’s not too late to finish the year out strong.

Over the years, I’ve allowed certain people to make me feel that trying new things and changing my career was bad. Who can relate? Honestly, I have changed career paths frequently in the last few years and have even struggled to figure out what I truly want to do. If I’m honest, I was a little embarrassed about all the avenues I’ve tried and failed at, or rather, quit at. I won’t go down the list. However, this quote has shamed me through it all, “jack of all trades, master of none.” It reminded me I was on track to nowhere if I didn’t figure this thing out soon.
It’s also the perfect time to realign yourself and take action on your goals this year.
Often, we set goals, and it stops there. No follow-through.
Life gets in the way, especially if you are a wife and mother. Many other tasks pull you in different directions: doctor appointments, school activities, career, business, trying to stay balanced, etc.
Most of us don’t intend to get sidetracked or abandon our goals; we’ve just never been taught what to do to meet our goals successfully. I know that was me until I took a goal-setting class earlier this year.
First, I am a stickler about not using the word simple. So, if you see me use the word simple, you best believe it is. Ebooks are excellent resources for adding passive income or diving into the book publishing world. There are numerous options for creating and selling your ebook; here is a simple and cost-efficient route.
Chose your topic. This should be an area of expertise, something people know you for.
Know your target audience– This will help you write and market your ebook.
Outline your chapters– This is where you decide what you are going to talk about and how you will break it up. I would keep it short and straight to the point and provide real value in whatever you are talking about.
Design your ebook. You can do this in Word, Powerpoint, and numerous other platforms. I prefer to use Canva for my ebooks. Click here to get a free template.
Hire a proofreader/beta reader- Have someone read your ebook. As a writer, I know firsthand that we tend to read our words the way we thought we wrote them and can easily overlook grammatical mistakes.

A few years ago, I found myself stuck in the idea phase with a business concept but clueless about how to proceed. The world of entrepreneurship and business seemed overwhelming and unfamiliar to me, and I lacked the confidence to take the leap. However, life had different plans for me when my husband and I were unexpectedly laid off in 2020, just a month apart. To add to the complexity of the situation, we had just welcomed a new baby into our lives, and the pandemic was looming, causing a scarcity of job opportunities.
Faced with this challenging situation, I made a promise to myself and my family: we would never be caught off-guard like this again. It was time to become proactive and take control of our financial destiny. My husband and I decided to embark on a journey to learn how to create multiple income streams and wisely invest our money for a more secure future.
Though we were not business-savvy initially, we were determined to change that. We dove headfirst into learning about various income-generating avenues, exploring everything from traditional employment to innovative entrepreneurial ventures.
